This quintessential Dutch island has a magic all of its own. From swaying palm trees fringing blindingly white beaches to pastel coloured houses, the island is otherwise known as ‘Happy Island’. Measuring only 19.6 miles long and six miles across, Aruba is located in the Southern Caribbean just outside of hurricane belt.

Aruba is also known as the wreck diving capital of the Caribbean and with a mix of 90 nationalities from more than 130 countries living in harmony, Aruba’s history is a mesmerising mix of cultures and peoples.

A Mecca For Water Sports

A Mecca For Water Sports

The clear waters around the island make for the perfect shipwreck diving destination in the Caribbean. Alternatively, go for a relaxing sail in a catamaran or enjoy a sunset sail under the cool breezes of the Trade Winds. Check into Aruba WaterSports Center on Palm Beach and get fuelled up on adrenalin-soaked activities like Tuberides and Waverunners or rent a speedboat and enjoy the view of the high-rise hotel strip from the water.

Carnival Time Calypso

Bon Bini Festival takes place every Tuesday at Fort Zoutman in Oranjestad. This weekly folkloric music and dance festival invites visitors to sample the warmth and hospitality of Aruba’s people. Don’t miss the weekly Carubbian where steel drums and calypso provide the soundtrack to a fun evening on the town.
