Day 1 – 3
Arrive in Lisbon and enjoy a 2 night pre cruise stay at PortoBay Liberdade. This 5 star hotel is located in Rua Rosa Araújo, next to Avenida da Liberdade, the most elegant avenue right in the heart of the city, making this hotel the perfect base for guests to explore Lisbon. Visit St. George’s Castle, a citadel which was built by the Romans more than 2000 years ago or head to Time Out Market Lisboa to enjoy the best Portuguese food. For those who want to venture outside the city a trip to Sintra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a must. Your All Inclusive cruise onboard the Scenic Eclipse will begin on day 3.
Day 4
The first stop is Portimão, the largest city in the western Algarve famous for its steep limestone cliffs which surround the sandy beach of Praia da Rocha. This city boasts a spectacular promenade dotted with fantastic restaurants and shops selling traditional lace, ceramics, and leather goods. Guests can spend the day taking a Scenic Discovery excursion by bike to the beaches of Praia da Rocha or going kayaking and seeing the ancient formation of the Algarve.
Day 5 – 6
Next your cruise will dock overnight at Seville, Spain. This city is full of beautiful architecture ranging from the Gothic design of Cathedral de Santa María de la Sede to the Baroque style of Iglesia Colegial del Salvador. Guests can join a guided bike tour passing by numeous sites, including Alcázar Palace, the Plaza de España and Jardines de Murillo. Be sure to watch a Flamenco show or for those interested in learning the dance join a Flamenco class and learn new skills from an expert dancer. Also not to missed is a trip the sherry capital, Jerez for a tasting.
Day 7
The next destination on this cruising adventure is Puerto Banús, Spain, set against a backdrop of towering mountains. This port sets the standard in exclusivity and is know for its expensive shops and impressive yachts. Discover the beauty of Andalucía during a guided tour of Ronda, or spend the day exploring Marbella. Or those who are feeling more active can go for a hike in the Sierra de las Nieves Natural Park.
Day 8
Dock at Málaga, located on Spain’s Costa del Sol. This city features a vast Old Town with stunning architecture and beaches with golden white sand. Delve into the art and architecture of the city with a visit to the Picasso Museum, enjoy a rural journey of Málaga visiting the oil factory Bravoliva and the orange grove Juanito Orange, or indulge in chocolate tasting in the village of Mijas.
Day 9
The next stop is Cartagena, Colombia. This beautiful historic city founded in 1533 is one of Latin America’s most photogenic cities. Explore this enchanting city full of cobbled streets, beautiful buildings with colonial architecture, balconies with blooming bougainvillea, pastel plazas, and 13km of centuries-old stone walls. Be sure to visit the many historical landmarks including the Walled City of Cartagena, Barrio Getsemani, and Castillo de San Felipe de Barajas.
Day 10
Dock at Ibiza, Spain. Ibiza is well known for its dazzling sunsets and thriving nightlife scene but there is more to this island than meets the eye. This island is home to gorgeous nature and beautiful beaches in addition to archaeological sites and small villages almost untouched by modern life. Spend the day discovering the medieval chamrs of Old Town Ibiza on a narrated walking tour or enjoy a day at the beach in Playa de Talamanca.
Day 11
The next stop is Palma de Mallorca. This city features a rich cultural heritage inherited from the Romans, Moors and Catholics who lived here since 123 BC. Stroll through the narrow cobbled streets of Palma’s casco antiguo and admire its elegant archways, grand historic palacios, medieval churches and charming squares. Be sure to visit Bellever Castle and Spain’s second largest Gothic Cathedral or take a trip to Valldemossa, a village steeped with old world charm.
Day 12
Next dock at Mahon, Spain. This city is famous for its British-style Georgian houses and medieval streets, filled with palaces, churches and fortresses. Visit archaeological sites as you walk around the Biosphere Reserve, or learn the cultures of Menorca, explore small towns and taste specialties such as their local cheese and gin. Alternatively, discover Menorca’s fun filled present at the Xoroi Caves and learn of the love story.
Day 13 – 15
Your cruise will end in Barcelona. Guests will then enjoy a 2 night post cruise stay at the Grand Hotel Central. This luxurious 5 star boutique hotel is located in the heart of the Gothic quarter, providing a quiet and peaceful retreat for guests in the middle of bustling Barcelona. Visit the magnificent basilica Sagrada Família, wander the city’s most famous street La Rambla, marvel at the incredible views from Gaudí’s Park Güell, or relax at Barcelona’s beautiful beaches.
