Overview

With a dramatic location perched on the edge of the seasonally accessible Ntwetwe Pan in Botswana’s Makgadikgadi, guests at San Camp can look forward to breathtaking views as far as the eye can see. Offering just seven luxury tents, this intimate camp promises an immersive wilderness experience in a remote corner of the world with a distinctly deluxe feel. Arabian styling mixes with elegant décor and antique touches to create a romantic ambience here, echoed by traditional paraffin lighting, which both contributes to the atmosphere and aligns with the camp's eco-conscious ethos. Quad biking across the otherworldly landscape, meeting some of the local meercats, and walking with the bushmen are just a few of the unforgettable adventures that await in this unique destination.

Climate

Botswana's dry season, from May to October, is considered the best time to visit with minimal rainfall and warm, sunny days. During this time, water levels in the Okavango Delta are at their highest making it easy to explore the network of waterways. November to April is the green season with wet, rainy weather. The landscape becomes lush and green and this is a good time for birdwatchers to visit, as a variety of migratory birds arrive into the region. However, the rain can make travelling around the country challenging and it may be harder to spot wildlife as animals disperse across wider areas due to the abundant food and water sources.
