My first travel job was dealing with complaints for a coach holiday company in England back in the 90’s! I then went backpacking for a year in 2000 with my now husband. We used a BA One World round the world four continent ticket which we could amend and re route without charge at any time (so much easier back in the day!). We spent over six months in Asia, visiting nine different countries. It is the best place ever, and I still have a passion for it today having gone back several times with my children. I came back home in 2001 and worked at Trailfinders for 16 years, enjoying sharing my travel expertise direct to clients. I joined If Only almost two years ago and am delighted to be part of the Asia team!
My favourite hotel to stay at:
I have stayed at a few hotels in Sri Lanka and it is hard to pick a favourite! The Shangri-La’s Hambantota Golf Resort & Spa and Uga Bay are both worth a mention, but so does the Heritance Tea Factory! Next time I am definitely having a night at 98 Acres Resort & Spa in Ella, which is the most beautiful place.

My favourite favourite ever place however, has to be Sri Lanka which ticks every box for me on every level. I have been twice, touring each time. I love the culture, food, people, landscapes and elephants! Trains are must as is the beach. It really is an all year-round destination. I love it and am excited at being able to sell it at long last at If Only.
