Itinerary

place DAYS 1 - 4 - Cape Town

Cape Town

Begin your South African adventure in scenic Cape Town with a four-night stay at Mount Nelson, A Belmond Hotel. Your first day of exploring day begins with a must-do cable car ride to the top of colossal Table Mountain, before taking in the historical sites of Cape of Good Hope and the Slave Lodge. Spend the following day in the Cape Peninsula, exploring the surf and skate culture of Muizenberg, meeting the resident seals and fishing folk in Kalk Bay, and stand up paddle-boarding, kayaking or walking with the penguins at Boulders Beach, accompanied by your specialist guide. Your last day of exploring the 'Mother City' will have you flying above it in a private helicopter flip, to take in the sights you've just seen but from above.

place DAYS 5 - 7 - Franschhoek

Franschhoek

An easy drive from Cape Town, your next destination is Franschhoek in the Winelands, where you will stay at Le Quartier Francais for three nights. Spend your time exploring this charming village, vineyards and elegant Cape Dutch estates, and of course the finer things in life at some of the world’s most exquisite restaurants with award-winning wine offerings. A highlight during your time here is discovering Franschhoek Valley’s best wine farms by hopping on and off the wine tram.

place DAYS 8 - 9 - Oudtshoorn

Oudtshoorn

Oudtshoorn is the ostrich capital of the world. The world’s biggest bird is just one of the many attractions in this area of exceptional contrasts and natural beauty in the Klein Karoo. The region is also home to the spectacular Cango Caves, Africa’s largest show cave system and the Swartberg mountain range, which is part of the Cape Floral World Heritage Site which you will get to explore on a full day tour with lunch included.

place DAYS 10 - 11 - Plettenberg Bay

Plettenberg Bay

Travel though some of South Africa's small towns including Swellendam, Mossel Bay and Knysna as you journey towards Plettenberg Bay. Spend some time lazing on the beautiful beach or exploring The Crags. On your second day in Plett, take a boat-based whale watching trip and hopefully catch the magnificent Humpback Whale breaching the water.

place DAYS 12 - 14 - Eastern Cape

Eastern Cape

With an outstanding offering of game reserves to choose from, the malaria-free Eastern Cape is not only home to the rare mountain zebra, but also indulges travellers with regular sightings of the ‘Big Five’. The extraordinarily diverse Shamwari Private Game Reserve is both stylish and secluded, with five eco-systems encompassed in its proximity. Spot the local wildlife with an early-morning game drive and visit the renowned Rhino Awareness Centre and award-winning Born Free Foundation, before spending a starry evening beside the campfire, reminiscing upon the undeniable magic of South Africa’s wild side.
