The Jewels of Raja Ampat

Travel aboard a traditional pinisi sailing ship through remote and unexplored tropical waters. Be immersed in the history and culture of the region and spend days snorkelling and diving with rich and diverse reef and marine life. This itinerary discovers the islands of Raja Ampat, alternative sailings are available visiting Komodo and the Spice Islands.

place DAY 1 - Sorong

Sorong

Take a transfer to your boat as you set course for the southernmost islands of the Raja Ampat National Park. After lunch, stop off for a swim and snorkel of the coral reef. Later, enjoy pre-dinner cocktails as the sun goes down. 

place DAY 2 - Misool

Misool

Awake at the eastern end of the Misool archipelago – a picturesque chain of jungle-covered limestone islets with spectacular corals reefs. Explore bays and beaches with trekking, swimming and snorkelling.  In the evening, relax underneath the stars.

Start with a memorable swim through a dome-roofed sea cave, filled with impressive stalagmites and stalactites. Move on to a mysterious stingless jellyfish lake – one of twenty in the world. Later, visit sea-cave cemeteries and discover prehistoric cave paintings, estimated to be between 3,000-5,000 years old. 

place DAY 4 - Batanta

Batanta

Trek through the forest to search for the Lesser Bird-of-Paradise, as they dance in their ‘lekking’ trees. Next, snorkel through one of the best coral reefs in the world and watch sunset fall as you sail to Batanta island.

The Jewels of Raja Ampat

Visit Batanta and stretch your legs with an adventurous jungle trek. You will be led through the forest to the first of two waterfalls, where you can swim and cool off.  Then snorkel or try out a paddle board or kayak. 

place DAY 6 - Waigeo Islands

Waigeo Islands

Take a tour of a pearl farm – tucked away in a deep-water cove – and learn how they are harvested.  Spend your afternoon on the water – snorkelling and kayaking between three small islands linked by pristine coral reefs, or simply relax on the beach.

Waigeo Islands

Explore limestone islands filled with coves and beautiful reefs. Afterwards, visit a small island located between Gam and Mansuar, which boasts schools of fish, shy blacktip reef sharks, spadefish and giant clams.

Waigeo Islands

Start with a spectacular snorkel at Yenuba, home to the magical ‘fishbowl,’ teeming with fish. Then on towards Mansuar, and its school of big fish and turtles. Afterwards, head ashore at Yenbesir, where you will see a replica of naturalist explorer, Alfred Russel Wallace’s jungle hut.

Waigeo Islands - Sorong

Head into the forest to search for the incredible Red Bird of Paradise. If you are lucky, you might witness incredible mating displays.  Later, board the boat and enjoy snorkelling off the east of Gam Island before setting sail.

Sorong

Wake up anchored in Sorong, and take a transfer to the airport, where your tour ends.
